From Our Union: American Federation of Musicians
[edit] Note
Those Google ads on the side of these pages are put there automatically - I unfortunately can't control the content of the ads. I may even shut this site down altogether because of the links.
- Is there a particular problem with them, or you just don't like ads in general? These are mentioned in the terms of use of the site. Please let me know how you think they could be improved, if there's any way they can. Thanks. Angela (talk) 06:22, 22 May 2005 (UTC)
Hi Angela- I don't particularly have a problem with google ads- the problem is that many of the ads seem to offer services that our union is strongly against. A parallel (and more extreme) example would be ads for sweatshops in a site for the AFL-CIO. -Matt
Hi Matt! Welcome to wiki! Don't shut down cus of the ads, you will learn to ignore them. Maybe we can help google figure out offensive ads and allow us to filter them out. If the AFL-CIO got its online act together and purchased google ads, that would be cool too.
Angela, isn't there a preference for how you can layout the page that doesn't include the ads? Best, MarkDilley talk
- If there are any that cause offense, please let me know and I can block them. Otherwise, you might want to experiment with your personal stylesheet at User:yourname/monobook.css. Angela (talk) 06:53, 14 Nov 2005 (UTC)
